"A Nobody Woman" by Hiva Panahi

"A Nobody Woman" by Hiva Panahi

Once upon a time
I went to Greece by formal invitation
Because I was somebody
Later, a group of Greek men decided to make me a “Nobody”
Once, I was persecuted there
And a beloved colleague at the university said,
No one will care about you,
You are such a "nobody".
And no one will remember you.
He was quiet right, I was " a nobody" from another land
I was a woman, for them, " A nobody"
And I left their land
Because I was " A nobody"
As he said, no one will shed a tear for me
No one says " stop," and no one says «no"
Once I left Greece
All at once, a young Greek guy took my PhD dissertation
from the open library
It was the intellectual property of " A Nobody."
He overshadowed the body of my writing so clumsily
He tore it into pieces for rough use
Who cares about this woman? She is "a nobody"
Now, as I know, no one cares about me
Because I am a foreign woman and "A Nobody"

" A Nobody," Hiva Panahi, whose PhD was plagiarized

So, I feel " a nobody”
A woman is a "Nobody."
He said to the UK publisher I am “A Nobody."
Woman? " A Nobody"?
Hiva is a "Nobody".

Hiva Panahi,  2025

1) ‌A Nobody” is reference for the poem of Emily Dickinson
