Companion, Hiva Panahi poem

Companion

The sweat of a poem
In the mysterious hills
In the suitcase
I carry my height
Together with a coloured innuendo I travel
Should I still wait
For Ariman* to mock me?
Or fall in love with the sun
As a sinful girl?
Do you think I come from
The country of cells
Do you think an oppressive thunder
Would turn me into the rain of love
Do you think there in the depth of the fields
During the illegitimate pain of darkness, my smile would still be imitation
In the cheerful mirror?
The false moment of the day
In the breath of our existence
Tell me, how can I escape
The ghost dressed in black**?
Yet his shadow brings me fear
I searched in the fairytales
and legends of ages past
For the day that will not dawn
From the famous thousand nights
A grey song
Of cursed love
From where does it come?
In the suitcase
I carry my height
The make-believe hero of the rain
Spoken of a thousand nights
I travel
